Research Interests

1. Membrane materials and membrane structures: Mechanical properties test and constitutive model research of flexible membrane materials (coated fabrics and ethylene-tetrafluoro-ethylene foils) used for large-span space structures (building structures, super-pressure balloons, airships, and space deployable antennas); automatic control devices, in-situ measurement methods, structural behavior test and numerical simulation of membrane structures.
2. Smart soft materials: Manufacture, mechanical properties test, thermal-mechanical properties test and constitutive model analysis of soft shape memory polymer (SMP) and its composites; manufacture, thermal-mechanical properties test, structural performance test and automatic control of micro-actuators manufactured with smart soft materials.
3. Green energy and structures: Design and optimization of photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) composite functional thin membranes; basic physical experiment and characterization of PV/T membranes; optic-electricity-thermal model and mechanism of PV/T membranes; mechanical properties test and multi field coupled nonlinear mechanical model of PV/T membranes.
